System Restore Contains Virus

Your virus scanner (Sophos, Norton, Symantec, AVG, McAfee) is telling you that it has found a virus in the system restore data but cannot remove it.

Solution: Delete all system restore points – remember this will mean that you will not be able to use system restore to before this date.

  1. Click Start, point to All Programs | Accessories | System Tools and click Disk Cleanup.
  2. Click OK.
  3. From the Disk Cleanup dialog box, click the More Options tab.
  4. Click Yes to confirm your actions.

  1. I really think that Norton is a really pain in the bum…:-) I’ve had it installed on my PCs for the past couple of years and I must say it is quite poor when compared to AVG.
